Speed limit enforced by aircraft

Not sure what that means but those signs are all over the south.

Dan here. Asheville was a great city. We stayed with two of my aunts, aunt Arlene and aunt Diane. I haven't seen then in about 15 years. They have a place in the Appalachain mountains of North Carolina. It was beautiful up there. The scenery is incredible, the water is clean and the air is fresh. At night Jesse and I heard coyotes howling, or so we think so. Aunt Arlene and aunt Diane were very kind and took Jesse and I in. I really enjoyed seeing then again and spending time catching up with them. It was wonderfull.

We spent another day in Asheville. There is a drum circle that gathers downtown every Friday and lasts from about 7pm to 10pm. There were about 300 people there dancing and beating drums it was really amazing to see.

The drum circle had it all, even Steve Vai!

Before leaving for Atlanta Jesse and I got to meet my aunt's horse, Sugar.

So we left for Atlanta but not before a couple of hugs and heartfelt goodbyes.

We drove down the mountain to get back on the interstate but there was a huge traffic jam. The Garmin GPS (From now on will just be reffered to as Garmin) has the ability to find detour routes so we decided to try it out. The detour however was going to take us back into the mountains. We followed the route anyway. Let me just say that there are some twisted roads in those mountains. The detour ended up being a bust and heres why. The road we were on eventually turned into a dirt road which turned into a muddy road that was closed off by a gate in the middle of nowhere. I don't know how this road even registered on Garmin when Garmin was missing more structured roads with names, like the one to my aunts house. So we turned around and made our way back to the interstate and ended up tacking on an hour to our drive to Atlanta.

Jesse here. We are now with the Rhine family in Atlanta, GA. I met Melody last summer while doing research in Maine. Her and her family are very into jazz and their house is filled with instruments. It was a really great environment for Dan and I. They were all very kind and put us up for two nights.

We are getting up early tomorrow and heading south to Baton Rouge, LA.

  1. I need more updates. It allows me to vicariously live through you both from my desk.
